About Us
The Newburgh Museum’s mission is to preserve, exhibit and educate all visitors about the history and culture of Newburgh and the surrounding area’s unique river town heritage.
The permanent displays at the museum include information about the town’s founding, how it got its name, its early industry, a period of decline and how it has changed in modern times. The main exhibit at the museum is changed every few months.
A diverse group of local and regional figures helps guide the Newburgh Museum in support of our mission. Members of the board of directors are elected in accordance with the museum’s bylaws and play an integral role in the life of the museum. More than just supporters of the museum, our directors are community leaders with vested interest in and commitment to the preservation of history in Newburgh, Indiana.

The beauty and history of Newburgh has captivated me since a young age. Being active in my community is important to me as I have been a substitute teacher for WCSC since 2020. With completing my B.A. degree in Archaeology with the University of Evansville, I had the opportunity to intern with the Newburgh Museum. My passion has grown even deeper as I have gained experience through studies, excavations, and volunteering. If I am not working hands on with something, you can find me outdoors enjoying nature and exploration. I have always been a go-getter and I cannot wait to see what my future holds with the Newburgh Museum.
